Safe swallowing practice note published


Our new Safe swallowing practice note helps staff and services to support people with an unsafe swallow.

It is vital that staff are trained, knowledgeable and confident supporting people and managing choking incidents. The Safe swallowing practice note sets out what services and staff should have in place and includes links to learning, resources and further information.

Draft standards for Bairns’ Hoose published today


Children and young people in Scotland have the chance to have their views heard on a new approach giving those who have experienced abuse a say in the support they receive. The draft standards for Bairns’ Hoose, published today by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Care Inspectorate, outline a new concept in Scotland supporting a child-centred response to health and justice for victims and witnesses of serious crime and abuse. The standards also apply to those under the age of criminal responsibility whose behaviour may have caused harm to others.
