Do you know what to do if you are concerned that a social service worker is not meeting the standards in the SSSC Codes of Practice?

The Codes set out the standards of professional conduct and practice for workers as you go about your daily work. It is crucial that people who use services, carers and the public have confidence in the services they need and use and can rely on the people employed to look after their interests.

If you are concerned about the practice of colleagues you must inform:

  • your employer
  • Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) (call us on 0345 60 30 891 and ask to speak with a Conduct Case Officer or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. )
  • an appropriate authority if relevant eg Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS).
