A care at home service on the Isle of Skye has been praised by the Care Inspectorate, Scotland’s social care regulator.
The service, Crossroads Care - Skye and Lochalsh, based in Portree, has been graded ‘excellent’ for the quality of care it provides at two consecutive inspections. This is the highest possible grading.
The service is a voluntary organisation which provides care at home services, respite care and support for carers of people of all ages in Skye and Lochalsh.
In a report of the inspection carried out in March, inspectors noted: “Crossroads Care Skye and Lochalsh continues to provide an excellent level of service.
“Staff are able to develop effective supportive relationships with people and provide a flexible service which responds to their individual needs and choices.
“Everyone we spoke with was very happy with the quality of service provided and spoke highly of the manager and staff team.”
A spokesman for the Care Inspectorate said: “Everyone in Scotland has the right to good quality, compassionate care which meets their needs and respects their rights.
“The vast majority of care services in Scotland perform well, and where we encounter excellent services, it is vital we share good practice so that all care services in Scotland continue to improve and reach the high standards we expect.
