AN ABERDEEN care home has been told it must make improvements after the quality of care it provided to residents was graded ‘weak’ for the second inspection in a row by Scotland’s social care regulator.
The Care Inspectorate has now published the findings of its latest unannounced inspection of Bucksburn care home in Newhills, Aberdeen.
Inspectors rated the service as ‘weak’ for the quality of care and support provided to residents for the second inspection in a row.
In their report, inspectors noted “important weaknesses” in how residents’ health and wellbeing needs were being met.
They added: “There had been a fall in care standards since the last inspection.
“The provider needs to make sure that the plans which are in place to improve the quality of care are fully implemented.”
Inspectors have now made several requirements for immediate improvement.
A spokesman for the Care Inspectorate said: “Everyone in Scotland has the right to safe, compassionate care which meets their needs and respects their rights.
“We have informed the service of the areas which must improve quickly so that the care provided to residents meets the standards we require.
“We will continue to work closely with this service to ensure it improves, but if we do not see evidence of improvement we will not hesitate to take further action.
